Calories consumed while camping don’t count, right?

Camp food and anything wild you forage has zero caloric content.

I figure since I’m cooking it with fire it’s basically part of the cave man diet that I’ve heard about.

Note that it doesn’t apply to junk food. You have to cook it there and it has to be minimally processed. Things like pancake mix, chips, etc, that really weren’t made while camping don’t have this power.

Now, does it work with s’mores? Sure the components are all preprocessed, but the zen experience isn’t released until after the smoldering marshmallow contacts and melts the chocolate. I take that to mean the magical health benefits of fire are transferred to the chocolate through the marshmallows.

This is scientifically proven. No question about it.

Sadly, I’m pretty sure the fact that every component is heavily processed is a problem, but the fire might remove the caloric content of a perfectly toasted marshmallow.

The upside is that basically nothing else you eat has any caloric content, so you only have to count the s’mores.

The marshmallow has no calories because fire. I’m pretty sure that the chocolate also has no calories, as long as it melts. If you’re impatient or undercook the marshmallow and the chocolate is still solid, then it has calories.

Graham crackers have calories, but they’re basically a health food.

I like the way you think. Can’t risk undercooking the marshmallows because in addition to meaning they still have calories; I’m pretty sure undercooked marshmallow on a s’more is a crime in 35 states.

Personally, if they aren’t in flames, they’re not done yet.

Also, the hard part is waiting a little bit for the chocolate to melt after assembly. I’m about 50/50 on that.

And you always know when you bite too soon because you unleash the molten lava inside the marshmallow interior which sticks to your lips and threatens to burn a hole through them.
