Our new toy came home last night. A350-900. I can’t wait to check it out Monday. I haven’t seen one with the interior in it yet. All composite fuselage and wings, Rolls Royce XWB engines and 8100 mile range.

Very nice! My father was a captain on A330 before retiring a few years back. Winglets are cool haha

We’ve had pretty good luck with the 330. Pretty reliable aircraft.

Wow, that’s kinda surprising. Is that only for new types? I always figured a new airplane needed to start earning its keep the day after it came home from the dealership.

New fleets have more checkouts and since this is an ETOPs bird we have to do proving runs. With it having a composite fuselage we are also doing a lot of familiarization for ground crews and maintenance.

Meanwhile, I’ll be flying on a 25-year-old embraer a couple times this week for work
