You’re driving along, when suddenly... CRACK. Something definitely just hit your windshield. Or mirror. Or something. But when you get out and look, you just can’t see anything. Part of you wants to be relieved, but the other part of you knows deep down that something must have happened. And you never get to know what it was.

A jeep shot a golf ball off the road and straight into the grill of the M3. It hit perfectly on the passanger’s side kidney and bounced like 40 feet into the air. Apart from a small golf ball mark on the kidney, I escaped unscathed.

i actually have something like that with the mountainbike i use to get to work... every now and then it makes a loud tick noise... sounds suspiciously similar to metal snapping... ive pretty much dismantled the thing and cant find any problems... its doing nothing good for my confidence in the bike

When the acorns start falling, this happens to me at least once a week. Took me a few years to figure out what it was, but an acorn hitting your windshield or sunroof at 30 mph sounds like a rifle crack.

The Fit is apparently a rock magnet. 2/3 summers we’ve hit it it’s been hit buy god rocks that flew off a dump truck headed the other direction. The first one smashed the windshield, the next one put a big dent/gauge in the paint on driver’s side front fender. the first on was a week after we baught the car, and cost 400 bucks, the second one would have cost 500 bucks to get properly fixed so instead I just put a think layer of rust reformer over the scratch and called it good.
