Is that after a shower and fresh clothes????!!?? If I spend that long working on a car you can guarantee I’ll look like I’ve been living in a dumpster for a month.

Ten hours wrenching? I’m amazed you are still sane. At least tell me you had a beer or two.

Nope. No beer. But I definitely was whipped at the end and it was 90 degrees.

I haven’t had a beer in more than twenty-five years.

Dude: I smogged it and registered it today and right now, I’m replacing the stock stereo speakers with some low-end Alpines. Car runs and drives great. I had new tires installed this morning — got a crackin’ deal on them — and renewed the rear brakes. Pretty much ready for prime time.

If you study the picture, I’m pretty dirty there. I bought a bunch of Red Kap mechanic’s shirts on Ebay for $5 apiece. Believe it or not, I iron them before I put them on in the mornings. And that way, when I need to run an errand or something, I just take of the grubby shirt and throw it in the clothes basket and put on a clean one.

Just kidding a bit. Respect.

See, when I’m wrenching, I get a buzz going and I find I suddenly don’t hate the purchases I’ve made nearly as much. Works wonders.
