Take a look at the tires from the tweet below. This is that opportunistic loser that gained notoriety a few months ago after rushing the stage at that play where Trump was killed like Caesar or some shit.

Slashed or blow out from unbelievable dry rot?

Pothole + curb rash + dry rot = blow out.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tire that dry-rotted, including in junkyards.

LOL! Well, just to entertain the idea of sabotage a little.. is it even possible to accelerate dry rot if one was so inclined? Like chemically, or maybe shining a UV lamp on the sidewall all night, every night for a while to speed things up?

She’s claiming they have less than 50k miles on them, but nothing about how many years it’s taken to reach that mileage.

I’ve got a 16 year old set of winter tires in my garage that look better than those.

What’s even better, if you go to her page she’s saying that she had them inspected at her last oil change and they were fine, and have less than 50k miles. Nothing about how many years ago that oil change might have been to have tires that bad...

I can’t quite make out the DOT code, but the last two digits look like “12”?

If someone slashed her tires - and I don’t believe that anyone did - they saved her fucking life. Those things wouldn’t be safely used as a tire swing, let alone driving a 4000lb vehicle.

TBH, I’m not entirely sure myself. FWIW, the last four digits look like they start with “071”, and then I can’t read the last bit. I think I see an angled line as if it’s a 2 or a 7, but “0717” can’t be right.

2012? That would be more or less consistent with her claim of ~50k miles, I guess. At any rate, they’ve sure seen plenty of sun!

Yes, because slashing a tire will cause the bottom to bust open. Given I’m pretty sure those tires could have been slashed with a plastic butter knife.

Looks more like they were driven on under inflated and the sidewalks got thrashed. That can happen at any mileage on the tire.

There are three sets of digits in a DOT number, the third set is the date code, but that isn’t visible here. Usually the date code is only printed on one side, presumably the other side of this specific tire.

Ah, that makes sense. I just went right for the last visible digits haha. The tire does look older than ’12, but I just figured it was a harsher climate or something. Seems strange to put the code on one side only, but whatever.

I wonder if someone got fed up with seeing dangerous tires on the road and slashed them for the safety of the public at large.
