I mean, how bad could a 2004 Civic with 300k kilometres be?

Kinja'd!!!

$1900 for what could be one heck of an adventure. This seems like a great bad idea.

If you can do the majority of maintenance and such yourself, it’s not a bad idea at all. Although I’d go for a EK if you can find one, since they still had the double wishbone front suspension.

Or to put it this way. If you can do brakes, you can do 80% of everything this will ever need.

Thought only the automatics on these were garbage?

At that mileage, it all comes down to how it was maintained. And for less than $2000, if you get at least a year/20,000km of use out of it, you got your money’s worth.

But that only applies if it’s certified and e-tested. If it isn’t, take it to a garage to find out what the etest/cert will cost... and offer a lower price accordingly.

That could be one hell of a beater. Buy it and go for 7 figures!

The beauty of Saskatchewan is that it won’t need any testing at all to be legal.

Looks better than what I’m driving. I’m not a big fan but that has more to do with it being fwd and a Honda than anything else.

Holy crap just buy it and no it’s not even a bad idea. 300k km is roughly 186k. That is absolutely nothing. Thats just an average civic here. The only thing to check is the timing belt and water pump. That’s literally all they need done.

Want proof

I’ve got more but I think I’ve made my point.

300k kilometers ? That’s nothing. I probably pass 20 of these with higher mileage than that every day on my way to work.

Interesting! I’ve got a 2001 four door Civic - same color. It has 267,000 km or so. I was just thinking today about what it would’ve worth. Now I have a better idea!
