88 tomorrow? Dang, that is straight up south pole weather compared to last weekend.

111 heat index last Saturday where I was near Freeport. My Moose read 118

I’ll believe it when I see it. What I really want is the rain.

The last couple mornings have been really nice compared to typical end of July early August Houston weather.

I’m thrilled. We missed the whole bake fest by being in the Midwest. We are coming home at the right time.

Ahh yes a sweater because its so cold indoors with the AC on full blast. Humidity is the killer part though. Mid nineties and dry is perfect weather for anything outdoors but add in more than like 30% humidity and that shit aint fun anymore.

Exactly. Those temps don’t show the heat index.

We were in Chicago a couple of weeks ago, and the two days we spent in the city it was 75 and bright sun. Absolutely glorious.

INDEED! Top down in the Z4 have been epic for this time of year.

And here I am thinking its WAY too hot in NJ. I can’t even imagine living in the South. Air conditioning breaking would be a major catastrophe there!

Yes, although Chicago in summer can be brutal, it’s more likely to be nicer than Texas in July.

Having lived through a few of those summers, I know. IIRC, we never had AC in our houses either. The first place I lived, before my mom and stepfather divorced, was a very big house in Oak Park that had a huge ventilation fan in the ceiling of the second floor at the top of the stairs. You turned that sucker on, and you had an instant breeze coming in every window of the house.

I can attest to the calamity of having your AC go out. Not sure I’d trade my TX summer for your NJ winter, though.

Oooh, that sounds nice. But I’ll never understand not having A/C on purpose anywhere south of Newfoundland. It’s the same as people in north Texas always being surprised when snow comes.

Yeah, Ive learned I dont really like cold (because having to use snow tires) and I dont really like hot/humid either (because sweat). So I am going to just move to Southern California where its always paradise lol. Id honestly be happy way farther north though in Vermont/Upstate NY/New Hampshire where its actually cold. Then the summers are more palatable.

I’m pretty excited for tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll be able to run at lunch like normal instead of having to duck away from my desk mid-morning. Probably still gonna be humid and sweaty, but if the sun stays behind the clouds I’ll take it. We hit water restrictions here in SA a couple weeks ago, so I’m hoping at least some of the rain actually hits.

We still seem to have plenty of water in Austin. There’s boon no talk of restrictions. Thing is, the time to save is before there is a shortage.
