Fun fact: Scaramucci is actually not the shortest serving White House communications director ever. In 1987, Ronald Reagan’s communications director John O. Koehler offered his resignation six days after beginning in the role due to revelations that he had been a member of a Nazi youth group as a child. ( WaPo )

Really, you can’t make this stuff up.

It should be noted that membership in the Jungsvolk was compulsory for kids 10 and older so it’s not like the dude had a choice in the matter. Still though, you keep thinking this whole thing couldn’t get more bizarre and it just kind of... does. House of Cards and Veep have their work cut out for them next season.

Also fun fact: The Mooch sold his business before joining Trump’s staff and his wife divorced him after he purposefully missed the birth of their first child to go on the Boy Scout trip with Trump. I don’t enjoy bad things happening to anyone regardless of how awful of people they are, but it’s almost hilarious how much of a 180 his life’s taken in the last two weeks.

Man have you checked The New York Times and Washington Post? They’re doing the most in-depth reporting they’ve ever done right now, we wouldn’t know a tenth of the Trump Administration’s (alleged) crimes and failings without their work. Hell, investigative journalism in general is experiencing a revival during this whole Trump shitshow because of they want to be the ones to expose Trump’s (alleged) crimes after how terribly he’s treated them. IMO there hasn’t been this kind of quality journalism in a long time.

More info on the sale of his hedge fund:

It sounds like Mooch’s life could be getting still worse.

WaPo did a lot to bring down Nixon, we can only hope they succeed again.

The guy literally texted his wife “Congratulations!” after she gave birth haha, is divorce him too:)

Good thing he sold his company beforehand. That will get her a lot more money! On the other hand, how can you be this stupid and end up with a guy like that???

Husband of the year material right there. Bet Trump loved that though, that’s the kind of blind loyalty to him and disrespect to women he’s all about.

For your second point I honestly don’t know, man, maybe she’s just as crazy as he is. Charles Manson and Ted Bundy both ended up finding wives, just goes to show there’s someone out there for everyone.

Very true - and I subscribe to both -but there’s so much other garbage on the internet that their voice isn’t as easily heard by the general public.

When my stepbrother was born, my stepfather refused to take my mom to the hospital in the middle of the night when she went into labor (the very hospital where he served as an administrator). The next day, he showed up at the hospital wearing a baby blue suit and carrying a bouquet of flowers. Nobody was buying it, and the hospital staff was incredulous. Needless to say, the marriage didn’t last.

I’m a daily reader of the WaPo, and its left-leaning tendencies have been on full display. That said, they are doing some extraordinary investigative work, and their connections to Washington insiders is unparalleled. Soon after Trump’s assault on the media began, they added “Democracy Dies in Darkness” to their masthead, a sentiment with which I strongly agree. A rigorous and unflinching free press is what will likely save this country going forward.

People read what makes them feel good. If you are a Trump supporter, you are likely getting all your news from Fox. It’s become every bit as much of a government mouthpiece as Pravda.

Very true. My theory is that there is just so much volume of news available, that people naturally have to filter out what they wish to hear (regardless of which way you lean) - much in the way our brains use stereotypes to speed decision-making. WaPo/NYT lean left, Fox leans right, which flavor do you like better?

I lean center-left, but there are some things that true Conservatives are saying that I agree with. I think Jeff Flake (R-AZ) nails it . But I’m getting tired of the stream of WaPo articles that say, “So-and-so might be the end of Trump” or “So-and-so might be the end of the Republican majority.” They print many articles directed right at Trump detractors, and they are more opinion than news. But we would know so little of the shenanigans going on in the Trump administration if it weren’t for the diligent reporting of the WaPo, the NYT and their ilk.

Yep, I’m in the same neighborhood politically as you - and I don’t vote on party lines, but rather by candidate. There is good and bad on both sides, IMHO. And I’m getting tired of both the people who are burying their heads in the sand on what Trump is saying/doing, as well as those who are demanding impeachment for every minor hiccup (aka crying wolf).

Flake does nail it from a conservative POV - we need more thought like that on both sides.
