Ford is continuing incentives on the Focus ST! In my state, it was reduced from 4500$ last month to 3500$ this month, but apparently some states were already at 3500$ last month so I guess it’s more nationwide now? In any event, it’s a killer deal on a hot hatch. I am fully in love with mine and still giggle at the fact that my coworkers are paying more for cars like a Ford Escape or chevy malibu than I paid for my FoST.

my brother-in-law was looking at cars for a while. There was about a $4-5 k premium for a comparable Rav4 or Escape over a Corolla or Focus.

I think a FoST would be the perfect fun family hauler/commuter for me, but two car payments and two kids in daycare just ain’t happenin’ on a shop teacher’s salary. I will have to remain jealous from afar!

Yeah. If you were close to paying a car off, it could possibly work, and I know of a few people who got out from underwater on their car loans thanks to the crazy good incentives on Focuses lately. But it is still a loan and a payment...

My truck is paid off, but we’ve still got three years to go on my wife’s CX-5. I’m hoping to be able to keep the truck after hers is paid off and buy something fun that I can fit the family in. For me, a base model FoST like you have would be perfect. I’m too fat for the Recaros in the upper models anyways. The rustmonster may have something to say about that, and may force my hand into buying another truck instead. Time will tell!
