I worked at a small airport that was a refueling stop for a “race” for home built aircraft on their way to Oshkosh. I didn’t learn what most of the models were but many made the EZ look almost normal by comparison.
One interesting thing I saw was several of the EZ’s had fiberglass pods under the wings shaped like drop tanks. They were pods to stuff extra clothes into.
