Being a mostly-native Virginian, this is one of my all-time favorite songs. I like this arrangement. It’s got some really nice harmonies, though the recording is a little too hot for my tastes. It’s amazing how well you can sing in tune when you sing with yourself. It’s the ultimate blood harmony .

What spurred all of these acapella acts within the last few years?
This dude’s traditional Christmas songs are really simple, concise and enjoyable.

No idea. Most of them have this sizzle, hot-mic sound that almost sounds like autotune. I wish they’d just back off of the processing a bit so we can hear the voice better. Unless that’s what they are trying to hide.
I actually prefer something more like this. Nothing but the pure, unadulterated voice. Impeccable intonation and blend.
