The ‘SS’ stands for Super Saiyan. When an Impala has it’s back against the wall against a powerful enemy and it has watched it’s best friend die, it will ascend to the next level and gain RWD and an LS1.

Unfortunately there aren’t that many Super Saiyans around since GM blew up the G-Body home planet in the late 90s.
