Yeah...it’s crazy. NADA for that mileage was 18,800. It does only have 3k miles on most of the powertrain, but the resale is crazy.

Out of my budget and not a hatch, but I am really considering a WRX in that generation (or the couple before it) to use as a daily. Although I have been leaning towards a Mazdaspeed3 just because they are a little nicer for my budget (under $10k). I REALLY like the mods you have for it though, its not a bunch of stupid crap bolted on.

Hopefully someone else can appreciate that and you dont have to sell it too low.

10/10 would recommend a WRX if you can find a stock one, and don’t beat on the 5-speed. I’ve had a few Mazdaspeed3 trade offers, but that doesn’t really help my excess of vehicles problem.

Engine failure like you faced is what has me so worried about Subarus in general though. I mean I have heard firsthand stories of MS3 blowing engines too but that was after being heavily tuned. Either way, I plan to keep the car stock so I guess I wouldnt face issues with either choice.

Although having a ridiculously fast STI as a daily driver would be fun. I think my girlfriend would get pissed off though if it was always broken and I end up just driving my Miata with 6 pt harnesses all the time lol.

Yeah. I think it’s less about being stock and more about knowing the weak points of these engines and correcting it. That and being OCD about maintenance.

Thanks! It’s a bit silly, but from the factory STI’s have an intercooler sprayer. It’s very similar to a windshield washer system, but has nozzles on the underside of the hood aimed at the intercooler.

Hmm. Didn’t think about that. In my opinion the car is a bit too pieced together to make it on BaT. Not that it was done poorly, but I would expect a <20k mile pristine unmodified STI to show up on there...not this.

Yup. Otherwise you get a little annoying warning light on the dash. To be honest though, I’ve never used it. Can’t imagine it’s particularly effective for normal daily driving.

That’s and 07 (stock tune sucks will blow motors), Unless the rims have been swapped, I already have an 06.....I’ll take the rear diff if they decide to part it out.

Yeah, I’ve never really refer to kbb any more as it has been so far off the market value in many cases, especially with enthusiast vehicles. I think my current asking price is too high, but I’ve had quite a bit of interest already.

They are way off on BMWs also. There was a 330 I think that sold on BAT for 12500 and kbb had it listed at like 3800.
