Thankfully 90% of my tools were still out of storage from fixing my car Tuesday, but there’s a whole lot of other stuff down there that’s not gonna be salvageable.

By my estimate, it’s about 2' deep and what you see here is only about half the basement. We have two subpumps going, but we’re not making much headway.
We’ll probably be getting a dumpster for the clothing, electronics, and furniture that are all marinating in floodwater right now.

I’m soo sorry. I’ve been there, and I still have nightmares about it - despite it being nearly 20 years ago, and it still drives every housing decision that I make.
I hope that there’s nothing valuable ($ or sentimental) that got wet, and that you can get the water out fast. Recovery companies rent giant fans to accelerate the drying - they’re overpriced, but still worth it (if that makes sense). Good luck.

You should check your homeowners policy - on mine they cover up to 10% of my policy limit on sewage backups. And if so you may want to claim it and call a recovery team. They’re expensive, but as long as you stay inside your policy limit you’re just out your deductible.

You know what, I would say fuck it and hire a company that deals with it. That is if either your insurance covers it or you can can afford it.
