It’s not something that usually happens. I’d chalk it up to the Coyotes having a young squad. It really doesn’t change the play at all in this situation since the coyotes already have numbers and the guy #6 is pushing is in the passing lane and 29 already has 33 tied up. 95% chance tippet gave him some shit for it when they went over the tape.
