Basically, I think he’s saying date a robot because they won’t ask a bunch of questions. Some have suggested that he is commenting on how artistically, he’s going to do his own thing and damn the torpedoes. There’s a sort of tension with RHCP songs where people speculate about the lyrics and RHCP never really confirms nor denies.
I just think there is some lovely sounding music there.
