Monsoons have started, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still fire danger. Don’t get too stoked to shred the gnar; your tire might ignite more than some sick flow, dude.
Just kidding. I’m not fast. And I didn’t burn that tree down.

Reminds me of this trail feature Sunday.

That’s a cool feature! Most of the trails I ride around here are devoid of human improvement, at least as far as bikes are concerned. Which makes them challenging in a different way.

I crashed my downhill bike a few weeks ago real bad, and it appears that nobody on earth has a single replacement dropout/hanger for my frame. :(
What I thought would be a ~300 dollar crash has turned into a ~2000 dollar crash if I have to get a whole new frame. Cars and bikes are expensive hobbies.

Whoa, that’s a little freaky. I’ve never ridden a tree like that before!

Derailleur hangers are the devil’s own spawn. I had my own adventures trying to get a replacement for my Framed Mini-Sota. Best of luck to you.
And if nothing else, it might be worthwhile to have a machine shop custom make you a new stainless hanger. Unlike cranks, I think derailleur hangers use standard threading. It’d definitely cost less than $2k.

Neither have I. I took a bypass around it. It was super slick. Mostly everyone was skipping it except one guy who slid off right at the end.

I considered it, but my Wilson has a one-piece hanger & rear dropout thing. so its no small component :/

Go get a quote. It’ll still probably be way cheaper than buying a new frame!

Damn. Boardwalks give me the heebie jeebies anyway. Can’t imagine sliding off would be fun. I think I bent a pedal spindle last week on a rock at about 12 mph (?). Wonder if sliding your pedal into that tree would do anything.
