A clean Cutlass Calais. A fine example of rare, but not desirable.

And where I live, never saw. I don’t remember them.

Pretty desirable to me.

In Illinois, too! I thought that rust or drive train issues got most of these crushed by now.
Brings back memories - a buddy of mine got a Grand Am (same platform) with the Quad 4 and a stick as his first new car. Not fond memories, mind you, but memories nonetheless.

My wife (girlfriend at the time) had one of these with the Quad4. It was rusty but decently quick. Playing with the ‘in car computer’ was fun.

I wanted one of these so bad growing up. Grandma looks with a 5-speed and that delicious (though high-maintenance doesn’t even touch it) Quad4. It beat the pants of my mom’s Cutlass Ciera

Yeah, in Illinois! This was at the Oakbrook Terrace Home Depot.
A Grand Am with a Quad 4 and a stick beats the hell out of my buddy’s first car. A beige automatic Renault Alliance.

Man, these used to be all over the place here. Most of them have long since been crushed though.

I like them too, but in general you and I both know we’re weirdos.

When I was in high school and these were fairly new, I desperately wanted a Cutlass Calais International... 2.3 HO, 5 speed, and dat face!

Nice! I graduated in ‘99. My first car was an ‘89 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo. This one isn’t mine. Mine was midnight blue with a blue interior.

I still see them. You have to go to an area with lots of retirees and relatively little road salt, or an area that’s a bit economically depressed.

The road salt is key. Around here most of these met their fate long ago.

Ohhhh, I always loved the Trofeo! A guy at my school had a bright red one that made me unreasonably jealous. I had to settle for a series of Iron Duke Grand Ams (both auto and stick), but always aspired to own the Big Olds Coupe!

It was a pretty sweet car, with the best seats EVAR! Don’t be too jealous, it absolutely ruined my wallet :)
