The license plate is just sitting there in the open! Don’t they have any sense of propriety or shame?

I’m not actually sure that I need photos taken in 5 degree increments as I move around the car, TBH.

Every one of their listings is that obsessive. It seems like they make a lot of out of state/international sales, so I guess that all of the photos help.

That is a very pretty car. And at $5,900 is price right as well. I wish I was in the market for a new to me car. That would be an interesting ride, although I’d hate to punish it as my daily work car. It’d be like making a thorough bred horse pull a plow.

Although, compared with photos taken at an angle facing sunlight, you sort of have to commend the effort.

Very fair point - plus, I’ve been spending wayyyy too much time on BaT lately, where this would be about the average number of photos posted per listing.

This site is dangerous, because their willingness to take 180 photographs of a 90s Land Rover for sale almost makes it seem like they’d be a reliable purchase.

Look how PRISTINE it is! It’s GOTTA be a good reliable car!

NP though.

Realtors do this shit, too. There’s a sweet spot in the number of pics I need of a car or a house. It’s usually about 20. Not 50. And definitely not 3 (I ’ m looking at you, Craigslist..)

bandwidth is basically free. If I’m buying a car sight unseen, why not.

Then I’d highly recommend that you stay away from BaT. It’s probably more obsessive than this site. :)

True, and no one is making me look at every photo. But it seems to me that a lot of these photos don’t contain new info.

I just randomly looked at the first BaT listing I saw, and it has 140 photos and 7 videos. The video number is pretty high even for BaT (it’s a 911SC currently at $20k), but I don’t think 140 pics is that unusual for them - - but there, you see a lot more specific, detailed photos of blemishes, known trouble spots, etc.

Even with all of that, I think I’d want to fly out and look at the car, but that’s just me.

There’s a FSBO website in my area that is like that. The hard limit is 8, which is not enough.

Sounds almost like an FSBO website that’s secretly run by realtors. “You know, if you want your house to sell, I can set it up on my website with 50 pictures!”

Really they’re just completely outdated. I used it when I sold my previous house, but in hindsight I should have known it was a waste of money. Same thing with flat rate realtors (who I fortunately talked my wife out of).

In the end, both offers came from buyers who found it on Zillow. The presentation there is much better.
