Only 43 years old, he passed away peacefully with his wife by his side after battling two brain tumors for about a year. Played for Prince for over a decade and of course worked with many others. Every single aspect of his drumming and musicianship was on a completely different plane of existence and somehow he came across as down to earth.

Damnit. Inspiring playing and personality, tragic he’s gone so young. I admit I don’t listen to much Prince, but I know his band was always kickass, and anchored by this guy. I’ll be binge watching John’s videos if anyone needs me.
