I AM THE EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE!

I once got pulled over for using launch control, because in the time it took me to twiddle all the different buttons to engage launch control, I failed to notice a cop had pulled up to the intersection. I was doing about 80 in a 30 before I realized I was going way too fast, slowed down, and then noticed the cop behind me.

The cop asked me, 

“So, what’s going on here?”

I replied,

“Have you ever heard of launch control?”

He joked that I should only do that kind of stuff out in the country, and I joked that then I’d get a ticket out there. He gave me a ticket for unreasonable and imprudent speed.

I went to the court date, pleaded not guilty, and when the city attorney asked me what I wanted, I said less points and a smaller fine, which they gave me. Done and done.
