It’s painful, but it has become time to say goodbye to my 1988 Peugeot 205 GTi. My bone stock, utterly original weekend toy. Luckily (for me) the value of these has gone up considerably. Still, it does hurt.
Here’s the ad . It notes all the things replaced/repaired when it was in my possession. It’s in Dutch though. If someone’s really interested I could create a translation.
Pictures are unedited, except for the automatic filter in Lightroom.

Too bad to hear you are selling it, I do understand it though. What are the plans for the other 2 205s?

The €300 ‘86 beater will go to a friend. Who’s been borrowing it for a few months now already. The ‘87 CTi, well the registration (tampered VIN) still hasn’t been sorted. The RDW will be called tomorrow and they’ll inspect it. When they don’t see any problems the engine will be installed and we’ll see from there. I might keep it.

Why is it time to let it go?

Ah I see, I hope the RDW won’t make too big of a problem of the VIN, and will just agree with re-stamping the correct VIN on that location.

I’ll emigrate and become a full time student (at 34). So I’ll be in a different country and I’ll have no income.

Knock 3.000€ off and I will wire you the cash asap.
J/k, unfortunate to hear that you have to sell the 205, which you will probably regret.

If I were to ever import a car into the US it would be one of these.

Ah, man, I’ve always kept this car in the back of my mind as something to buy from you when the time was right. I’m in the midst of buying a house right now, so the timing is decidedly wrong, or I’d be heavily consider finally pulling the trigger. Hate to see it go, but glad to see appreciation has been good to you!

It’s an icon, and rightly so. Most clean ones are more expensive than mine. +€3k easily.
