I don’t think it is. Mine was an 85 not an 86. The paint was in much better shape on mine. Mine also had over 340k miles when I sold it. My BIL sold it to someone whose first car was a Tercel, and he paid full asking price before he even drove it. He even made a burner and messaged me on Oppo once. That is all inconsistent with “turns out I hate FWD.”
TLDR I have my doubts.

If he had more than 3 lousy photos in a dark parking garage, I would be able to confirm. I would be able to recognize the hatch rust location and maybe some interior bits.
