Our housesitter called. The pump for my pond failed last night. At least 4 fish are dead, and probably saveral more will be before I get home.

Sorry to hear that. My wife hit and killed a small dog last night. The thing was probably frightened by fireworks and was running in the street. We tried to find the owner but couldn’t, and I took the dog to the city shelter today to see if it had a chip, which it didn’t. My wife was pretty broken up about it, and one of my boys was pretty shaken up.

Shitty. I got home last night to my AC not working. Luckily it ended up being just a fuse as it is supposed to be 112F today. Slept with the doors and windows open last night and woke up to a brisk 90F house.
