State law in CA gives you a fine for driving with a whistle tip but they really went after the people installing them.
However, just because it’s banned here don’t despair: you’ve got 49 more states out there who probably never needed such regulations so you’re likely good to go!

They’re illegal in Texas and have been for at least 30 years.
