All that and he didn’t even pull out to come and get me, even though I’m damn near certain he saw me.

The other day I did a second gear pull to redline, which brought me to about 5-over the speed limit. That normally isn’t a big deal, but straight pipe and as the tune calls it Loud Exhaust Crackles. Well when I let off the throttle I passed a state trooper heading the other direction with my car making bang bang sounds. He turned around, but didn’t light up. He got caught in two lights that I did not.

You could do that legally in Montana back in the 90's. I passed a cop doing about 85! Didn’t even look at me, he was in the slow lane.

I passed a cop going the other way at probably 16 over in one of those 55-40 back to 55 zones. Scared the heck out of me especially because I’m about to get insurance quotes.

You still can. SoDak’s also got 80mph speed limits. The Niva would do 80mph (eventually... Pretty well redline in 4th) but it was more terrifying than having the traffic close on me while I was doing 55. I-29 is not one of my favourite drives...

This is where my buddy got on the radio and asked me to slow down. He was following me. I was going as fast as I could set the cruise control in the MJ. His ‘76 Impala had more in it too so no worries. Something like 90-95 mph in the 75, on 95 headed north/west out of Vegas.
“Dude. That was a cop. Seriously we should slow down.”
“Did he look like he cared at all?”
“Well, no, I guess not...”
“Then we’re golden. We’re turning in a couple miles anyhow”
If we’d be going that fast back home, we’d be seeing a judge to find out what we owed the province, and she’d likely be pushing four figures.
