Kinja'd!!!

Friday afternoon before a long weekend at work, so nothing is getting done.

I thought I had though, I think honda make a mistake selling the crosstour (other than conceiving it in the first place).

They simply had a naming problem. They should have called it the CRV coupe! It would have made sooooo much sense to the 20-30 year old women you always see driving a normal CRV. I mean, the CRV is the ultimate car, so the coupe version is ultimater!

But its probably a good idea they didn’t, otherwise we would have to see these eye sores on every single corner.

Yeh but it’s also illogical when you count the number of doors right.

Unless you want more Gran Coupé Sportbacks.

God forbid, no. I just find it funny how other manufactures are selling them like hot cakes, as long as you market them as ‘coupes’, like that somehow makes them acceptable

It’s a silly buzzword alright.

This is another trend that will either become accepted and normal…

…or fall out of fashion, in a few years we’d look back on them and laugh, or maybe grow attached to them in an ironic/Stockholm syndrome way.

Whatever, these cars are here to stay for now. And they’re usually not bad, just a bit pointless. Also I’m pretty sure Saab was making four-door coupe-style cars in the 80s and 90s anyway - so it’s just the marketing that’s changing things these days.

Anything with “cross” or X in its name makes me angry. “Tour” is just as bad. Which is why as much as I love the Buick Regal TourX, it’s name makes me want to kick something, like kick whoever came up with that name in the head. Even something like Regal Adventure, Regal GT (grand touring), or... and this is a novel idea but, just Regal. Why would the Wagon version need its own name?

The worst offender is the Subaru Crosstour VX, so much marketing wank! it should be an Impreza Outback. Because that’s what it is.
