What’s the price?

I’ve got a Pioneer SX-1250. It’s excellent.

Guess I’d need to know the price first, but these old all-analog heads are great. I think they’re selling for perhaps a tad too much these days, but they’re still pretty great and top what you can get at a store for the price and sound quality.

I still use big speaker cabinets and used to have a receiver from this era. The buttons and knobs are priceless. The audio quality? Not so much. But I’ve always wanted to rewire one with modern internals.

That is a lot of damn money. I do love me old analog stereos though.

I recognize this era of unit. I had no clue they went for so much. My parents should sell the one they have collecting dust in the basement... Then again, maybe it’ll be worth more when I finally liquidate their stuff.

Crazy money. Some of that old stuff gets crazy money. I have 3 old matched Kenwood component pieces still from 80's and 90's mated to a 1970 ELAC Miracord turntable with Shure stylus. Sold off my Technics , Garrard and Fisher stuff except for a Fisher receiver and amp from the early 80's that serve as my garage music maker with a 90's Philips single CD unit. Wish I had my old Marantz unit back. $3k is too steep for my blood. I had some Pioneer stuff in the 70's but nothing that nice. It was old enough though that like my Marantz amp it still had tubes.

That’s a big pass for me. There is a lot of great gear that money buys

That reminds me I need to find a shop in Atlanta that can redo the caps in my old Marantz Stereo Receiver

If it was selling for less than $100, Nice Price. Easy Crack Pipe at the current asking price.

I would buy another Ford Focus wagon and a new stereo receiver from a brand like Denon which would support bluetooth and other modern technology... with better sound quality than an old solid state receiver like that would ever have.

Jesus. I mean I know old Pioneer stuff is good, but I doubt it’s thaat good. But I prefer Sansuis so I’m biased.

Yeah, that’s hella expensive. If they went into detail about the kind of caps they used and if they modified the preamp stage along with all the connection points (common point of failure) then maybe $1500. Unless the capicitors are some super high end type, then maybe $2000. $2k can get you a lot for modern gear.

They’re super easy to do yourself as long as it’s old enough to be pre-surface mount. Just look up the caps on mouser or digikey and order them.
