Just was curious if anyones picked up anything good on the Steam Sale?
Ive been looking at Rise of the Tomb Raider for a while now. I bit the bullet and bought it and the one released a few years back. I figured Id play the 6 dollar one for a few hours, If i didnt like the 6 dollar one I’ll return RotTR and not be stuck with a game I dont like.
Theres been a few games Ive looked at but didnt know much about them and I wasnt going to spend 60 bucks on a game and realize after the return period I didnt like it.
I also bought
- DLC for State of Decay
- Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition
- A few VR games. Nothing special just some games that looked interesting.
Other than Tomb Raider, I spent like 15 bucks and that was all I really wanted.
Just havent really been gaming too much. Just kinda bored with it. Especially since its summer and I got stuff I can do outside and really want to be outside.
I did buy a new motorcycle, 17 CBR1000 for the curious. Got a few project bikes that need work done.
I kinda give up on PC gaming when its warmer outside. Then in winter, Im gaming since there aint much else to do.
Any games I should take a peek at? Or even buy? They might sit until it starts cooling down. But Ill pick it up on sale.
Also bought my friend who’s been going through the loss of his brother a few games on his wishlist.
Any recommendations? I like to play Rust, Arma, Grid, GTA, Skyrim, Witcher, Sleeping Dogs. Mainly FPS, RPG, games with a good story, sometimes a game with some questing in it. (Although after my back to back plays thru Skyrim and Witcher, i may not look at too many games like those)

Ever played L.A. Noire? It’s not the slickest game around, but the atmosphere is amazing, and the concept is interesting. The Mafia games sound like they’d be up your alley as well.
Dishonored and Assassin’s Creed might be worth checking out, they’re more action oriented, but depending on which AC you get, the story and/or RPG elements are quite strong.
I somehow resisted the Steam sale until now; picked up X-Plane 11 a couple of weeks ago, and am trying to limit the amount of payware I buy.

State Of Decay is my JAM. Just streamed it for a bit last night. I’m up to level 60 on Breakdown and am trying to get to the max of 99 before SOD2 comes out next spring.

No that’s precisely the problem. I already have the gold edition. So my choices are deregister my gold and buy Platinum for $14 or individual DLCs for $17. Can’t buy the pack only to upgrade which is only $9.

Now that I think of it, you’ll probably like Mad Max as well, as it’s an open world car action game with RPG elements.

I got Rise of the Tomb Raider and MGS V. I’m a fair bit through RotTR, which feels easy / casual compared to MGS, so I’m saving MGS for when I can really focus.

I’ll probably buy Sailaway tonight. I’ve been tempted by GTA V but the price hasn’t been low enough for a cheapskate like me.
I did pick up a few bundles of stuph over at humblebundle.com, mostly some apps and audiobooks. I love that site.

I bought Clustertruck like a week ago for $5 on the recommendation of a friend. Played the first couple levels and it seems like a great concept. Not sure how long the game is but it seems pretty great.

SpintTires and SimplePlanes. Both really good simulators. You’ve probably seen SpinTires around. It moves a bit slow, but a pretty decent offroad/crawling sim. Large environments and a lot of easily loadable mods (Steam helps facilitate mods. NICE!). The planes one is about designing and using the planes. Has a few different modes. Fun.
Like 7 bucks each this sale. WAYYYY worth the cost.
