Thats what they say. Though I have to wonder if they would bother cutting out a private kinja unless they are cutting them all. I mean LaLD, or O&E aren’t dependent on sponsor sites, other than GM as a whole. I don’t think its wise to piss off ANY paid author for GM as a representative of oppositelock but truthfully I don’t think our boat is hitched to Jalopnik very strong these days...or at all...other than it being a part of the GM empire as a whole and adding to the bottom line. I could be wrong though.

The fact that it’s already on Kinja
The fact that Kinja seamlessly handles treating comments as posts (something that I don’t think any other blog software can do... but a forum with a blog front end, much like I’ve seen for IPB and vBulletin, could do that somewhat effectively)

Its all architecturally kinja (Jalopnik to oppo to hammerheadfistpunch.kinja.com) but there are no ties whatsoever structurally between the FP and oppo, completely separate and since a oppo is a persons actual private kinja (albeit a huge and active one) it stands to reason it would be treated as any other personal kinja. GM could shut it down alright without compunction, but why would they unless they were dumping the whole personal blog concept. In that case it wouldn’t matter once way or another if we were visiting the FP often.
I guess what I mean is that the fate of Jalopnik isn’t necessarily tied to the fate of oppo and vice versa.

I know I’ve had a post shared to the FP and I’m not alone. Perhaps Jalopnik/Gawker can justify the expense of running user blogs because they get enough click money on shared posts.

The content is mostly shit, everything seems politicized and occasionally filth from the rest of Kinja occasionally makes it in.
