In retrospect, the best time in my life was when I had changed jobs and had a suspended license (for speeding! I’d never drink and drive) and I was like, “well, it’s 9:00 AM and I’m legally banned from operating a vehicle, I’m pretty sure I can get out of bed and have a beer in this situation.”

It’s why I love the Irish.

When I used to work shifts, every time I got home for days off after a rotation of night shifts I’d go to bed. I’d wake up in the afternoon and be like well I need to sleep tonight, guess I’m getting drunk.
