Kinja'd!!!

Finally ordered new wheels and tires for the Mazda. It wasn’t cheap, but the result is worth it.

Kinja'd!!!

Enkei RSF5 17x7.5 wheels wrapped in Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 summers. Now I just need some Racing Beat springs to close that wheel gap.

Looks great! The black wheels and silver car are a good combo.

Thanks!

I almost don’t want to wrap it now.

Almost…

Is that a Tekton torque wrench in the red box?

I settled on a Harbor Freight torque wrench but the Tekton one seems like it might be worth spending the extra to get a quality one in case the HF one is out of whack.

Are the new wheels/tires the same size as stock? Are you keeping the stock wheels for winter use?

Yes. Bought it when I did the head gasket on my Civic a couple of years ago.

I mostly use it for torquing my lug nuts anymore, but it did get some use when I did my engine mount a couple weeks ago.

I have a smaller one for more delicate things like valve cover bolts, too.

Nice! Yeah, I was considering the Tekton for torquing lug nuts during rotations and general maintenance. I’m only concerned with the HF one because there is an alarming amount of force required to get to 90 lb ft. Although I could just be weak.

Same size tires on 1"-wider wheels. Nearly the same offset too (+50 instead of +52.5). I really wanted to lose some weight with these, but they’re dead even with the stock wheels as far as I can tell. Ended up being just a cosmetic upgrade.

The stock wheels are in rough shape, so I’m going to clean them up a bit and then they’ll replace the 16" steelies for winter duty.

Getting mine to ~88 lb-ft takes a good push, but nothing too substantial. It helps that the thing it about 18-20" long.
