Good choice! Only two things stand in the way of Mazda being a premium brand. One is bigger engines, not because the cars need them, but because premium cars have to have more hp. The other is choices for the interior styling.

I think this is what I’d do if I were super rich. Just get a normal car and pimp out the interior, so I don’t look like a douche driving around in a S-class.
I’ve got nothing against S-class owners, it’s just many people have preconceived notions about rich people.
