That color looks freaking awesome. Not sure I’ve noticed that color before?

They made about 1,800 in Laguna Blue Pearl from 2006-2009.... more common than Apex Blue Pearl (CR edition only - about 200) but far less popular than Suzuka Blue Metallic (6,150)... about 69,000 total produced during the production run so about 2.5% are LBP.

Honda did it right— there was no auto option and the 6-speed gearbox and clutch are excellent!

Love it - very nice! Seems like 90% of the ones I see are grey metallic. That still looks good, because S2000, but not as striking as LBP.

I’d always heard the Vette units were a bit notchy and the clutches a bit soft/vague, but otherwise durable... having issues?

I sometimes wish mine was blue, instead of the ultra common silver. But then I look at the black and red interior.

Thats because 90% of ALL cars are some boring ass shade of gray. For some reason people love that shit. I dont care what color a car is as long as it is a color. Black and white sometimes qualify as colors but are the most boring colors. Gray/silver just makes me irrationally angry on any and all cars.

it’s not as silky smooth as my honda (Acura Integra) was. Little notchy. Skip shift is annoying. Chevy dealerships around here suck and want me to dance to their tune. Had the vette at lexus dealership near me for AC re-charge. So much nicer. I don’t even care they charged me through the nose.

Please please please sell me that S2k first if you ever have to sell it. I’m local and everything. God I love that color so much, I was literally just looking over Autotrader for one.

Before buying mine I was always noticing the silver and yellow models. Silver definitely seems to be the most common. Definitely glad I ended up getting a good deal on a Laguna Blue Pearl model— it’s my favorite of the bunch.

Ah, a friend of mine has a 5th Gen Camaro with that annoying skip-shift “feature”; he bypassed it by adding a throttle controller. The S2K gearbox is special— the only one I’ve had that was as good was my 325iX, and that didn’t need to handle nearly the same revs or power. My understanding is that some of the notchy/clunky feel of the Vette gearboxes is to accommodate the massive amounts of torque/HP. That said— Chevy clutches are *light*!

when I say notchy, i mean it’s difficult to get it into first from neutral sometimes. Sometimes from first to second it’s a hit and miss.

Not racing it. Not revving it. Nothing crazy happening. Just going home with milk and bread... It’s a shitty design in my opinion. It might be there to account for torque and light clutch and extra milk on passenger side. I don’t know... What I do know is that I don’t like how it shifts.

If I ever *have to* sell it I’ll definitely let you know first. I was just thinking about it yesterday in terms of “if values rose to 30-40K, I should sell it to trade up to something better” and then I realized that there is literally nothing that I would want to replace it with for $30-40K and I’d spend the rest of my life regretting selling it. I could get something faster, sure, but better... naw.

Wrong color, but not a bad price for the miles and apparent condition:

The second one is Laguna Blue Pearl as well, I think, but the wheel are kinda terrible and the tailights are totally blacked out.

I lucked out that the previous owner had re-upholstered the centers of the seats with a matching blue, but yah, that black and red interior was awesome!

Hmmm... and the slave cylinder is at a good level? If so, that’s... disappointing. I nearly shit a brick on the second day of ownership when I couldn’t get the gearbox into reverse before I noticed that the slave cylinder needed a top off. No issues since then.

The S2K gearbox likes to be wrung out is one thing I’ve found— it was clunky in the winter and I’d have to be very deliberate in shifting into second from first; but after a couple runs over 6K RPM it’d warm right up and become smooth like butter.

I need to dig into it a bit more. From what I understand aftermarket shifter might help. There is also a trick to transmission - undoing a bolt a bit so it’s not notchy.

I don’t know. Once I find a good mechanic who knows vettes little more, I’ll inquire. for now, i can live with it.

I suspect car still has original clutch and i’ll end up replacing it sometime. That’s probably when i’ll be doing all sorts of shifty magic.

It’s a 1999 with about 90k miles. Not driven much by any one owner before me
