Kinja'd!!!

Yesterday I went to the RDW (our DMV) to have the PAO checked. And after it was tested thoroughly (about 1 hour!) it passed the test completely!

Kinja'd!!!

I counted the RDW guy opening the wrong door over 6 times (if he wanted to get behind the wheel).

Kinja'd!!!

Now I’ll just have to wait for the tax authorities to acknowledge I won’t have to pay any BPM (local tax) on it as it is over 25 years of age. After that I finally can use it on the road without any limits.

Kinja'd!!!

Being a bit of a weird thing at the test site I was glad the guy behind me pulled up in a...

That’s a far cry from a visit to my DMV. I give them a signed title, fill out a one page tax form, and then write two checks. One check is for a new title and new registration/license plates. The other is for sales tax, which because I always buy old junk puts me at the bottom of the sales tax charts ... $25. Anyone with a title and a check can get a car registered.

Social Security here is also like a pension, it starts at 62 (pittance benefits) and you get more the longer you wait to collect it.

However, public sector pensions often start around 55, and offer insanely generous benefits that the collector never really funded. It’s a ticking time bomb.
