Is it weird that the most unsettling thing for me about the scene at Ben’s is that I keep waiting for someone to offer Jeffrey some beer and they never do? Like, granted he said he liked Heineken, but how is he ever going to learn to like PABST! BLUE! RIBBON! if he’s never offered any?

I also like Heineken. It’s what my Vietnamese neighbor buys and drinks. I brought some Sam Smiths and I don’t think he cared for it.

I have a completely indefensible love of Heineken. You can get Heineken everywhere and Heineken is terrible in the same reliably terrible way no matter where you are in the world.

Every time I tell my twin boys (aged 11) to clean their room (which is ludicrously small), it immediately devolves into a screaming match about which one is doing more work than the other. It’s a shit show. But I always make them work it out, with mixed results.

I once put a line of blue painters tape down the middle of the living room and gave the kids sides to stay on. The boy immediately used the blue tape as a road for his hotwheels and chaos ensued.

Yes but the problem with Heineken is that it’s hard to pronounce. One of the advantages of “Bud” or “Miller” or “Coors” is you can pretty much let loose a belch and it’ll still resemble a beer name so when last call comes around you get one last one. Meanwhile Heineken comes out like “Hei hai hay henna key kin kit here kitty kitty kitty!” Then you fall over and have no more beer.
(This was all shamelessly stolen from a stand-up comedian I watched YEARS ago but he’s still relevant)
