how does one keep straight a face driving a terrible looking vehicle? When women tell me they like it despite its terrible aesthetics are they lying?
I have body shame for my car.

Depends on the woman. Some of us don’t care about what you drive, some of us see it as a status symbol, if not representative of the kind of guy you are. In other words, it’s a hit or miss.

My wife definitely cares, but not in the way I would have expected.
She absolutely refused to ride in the ‘77 Cougar I had, she saw it too much as a “pimpmobile”.
She did ride in my ‘88 Thunderbird once, and she seemed ok with it until it started coughing and dying at stop lights, then she was so embarrassed that she tried to slink down in her seat, even though no one she knew was anywhere near.
So, apparently she doesn’t mind ugly cars (or at least not kept up in appearance), but if it doesn’t run right or is “too flashy”, she cares too much.
Funny how much her opinion of the car matters, considering how little she cares about cars.
It doesn’t make any sense to me either.

I like the TC! I dont know how much I want the rest of the car but the body is a nice design. I need to practice the straight face somewhere between frown and smile is hard on my cheek muscles.

only speaking for myself here but I really don’t care. I’ve dated people who don’t care about cars at all and have boring cars, people who don’t drive at all, someone with a miata, someone with a C4, someone who goes out and leases a new 328xi every year, and now I’m marrying someone who doesn’t know how to ride a motorcycle. ¯\(°_o)/¯
and for what it’s worth, driving a “PMY” Camaro really only attracts police, bugs, and kids yelling “BUMBLEBEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”
....also calling women “females” is more unappealing to me than any car ever could be

Buddy, you’re the one asking for opinions here, and I just gave you mine. It’s your choice to be dismissive of that opinion or not. Did I tell you to change the title? No. Did I call you a bad person? No. I just said that it’s more indicative of someone’s attitude towards women (and thus my desire or lack thereof to interact with them on a personal level) than their car.
