I am a very lucky boy and I am going to the Goodwood Festival of Speed! I’m going with all my camera gear to shoot video for Driving.ca. What would you like me to shoot video on? Old cars? Concept cars? Interviews with drivers? interviews with fans?
I’ve never been before. It’s also worth noting that I’m not a Very Important Person so I won’t have garage/backstage access. I’ll be going with a normal tourist ticket.

I’d say check out the standard hillclimb fare, but don’t forget the lesser watched rally course they setup in the woods at top of the hill/estate.
As for backstage access, it’s a pretty open event with guests able to walk through the paddock pretty easily.
Also, jealous, as i made it last year and now i want to make it every year but won’t be this year.

There’s also tons of pay-to-play auto experiences to be had there. Last year jag had a setup where they just did burnouts/circles on a cement patch in one of their cars. Audi had an off-road experience essentially overlanding a few of their vehicles near the off-road arena.
Personally i’d keep an eye on the porsche tent (will we get to see more of the GT2 released at the XB1 conference?!) and look for the renault alpine.
Oh and get all the free swag you can get. I think maybe i only paid for food and bev while i was there.
