This is the message I get when clicking on some user profiles:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I first noticed it when I tried to check on our friend mdallin , the guy who won Jalopnik’s FreeR6 Jetta . If I manually change the link to https://kinja.com/mdallin/discussions , I can view his comment history, but not his posts.

I’ve already sent off an e-mail to Kinja support, but are you guys seeing the same thing? And what’s a “sale”? Is that some fancy HTML term that doesn’t mean what I think it means?

[4:00pm UPDATE: The bug appears to have been fixed! Thanks, Kinja team!]

Direct linking to blogs hardly ever works correctly. It’s worse nowadays as they have now separated blog authors from their blogs. For example, here’s me:

Blog URL
smart.kinja.com

Author URL
kinja.com/smart

Oh and there’s no way to link to the blog from the Author URL (just the posts the author makes in any blog), you have to have both URLs. Despite being the author of your blog, your blog technically isn’t attached to your account anymore. Why did they do that? Hell if I know.

At this point I’m pretty sure Gawkmodo fired all their IT people, along with all their editors and proof-readers, after the Hogan lawsuit.

Yeah, that’s weird. And cumbersome. A direct blog link on each profile would make things easier (when the profile is accessible, anyway...).

I’m glad you brought that up, though. I hadn’t tried to go to his blog. ( It works, BTW. )
