Three of them, that is. They don’t make much of a wall, but together with the wheels and hitch, they are mobile walls!

When I inherited this trailer from my mom, I had to put new lights on and rewire it before we could bring it home. I also had to add new safety chains and re-secure the jack. To make it a bit more useful for hauling dirt and doing lawn-related duties, I grabbed a couple of sheets of treated plywood and enclosed the sides. I was enclosed before, so it already had countersunk holes in the rails for wood screws. All I had to do is widen the holes a bit for the screws I had on hand.

Next steps are to clean up the rusty spots and give it some paint. I’ll just slide it in with all the other chores I need to do this summer.

Well done. A good utility trailer is a nice thing to have.

you are building them and i’m trying to convince my wife to knock some down. There is a house up the street from us that is the same basic design as ours. It just went up for sale and had an open house today. They had taken down one of the walls I want to. The wall divides the living room and stair/entry. I want to take the wall down (non load bearing) and open it up making the room larger. The stair in our house also has a solid wall and I would like to cut it out and put in a railing w/ balusters.

Don’t forget to check the tires and make sure theyre still good. Old tires that looks good can equate to not so fun blowouts (not once, but twice on the same trip) on the road. I found out the hard way.

After having an open floor plan for 10 years, we can’t wait to get into a house with more walls. Separation between the kitchen and living room is a good thing. As it is now, it’s nearly impossible to watch TV in the living room when someone is cooking in the kitchen.

Thanks! I may end up swapping this one out for one that is slightly wider. The mower deck is just a bit too much for this little trailer.

Thanks for the heads-up. It got new tires last year. We hauled it over 600 miles a few weeks ago with a lawn tractor on-board.

Here it is right before we left mom’s house, sans walls, plus lawn tractor.

we have two living rooms. I want to open one up so that that one, the dining room and kitchen are all open. The other can stay separated as its off to the side anyway. I want to take down the grey wall first then later the red (bearing)

That makes sense. In our house, the dining room, kitchen, and living room are all one big room. There is a wall that creates a small hallway between the living room and dining room and also provides wall space for the fridge, stove and some cabinetry. The kitchen is open at either end. Only a pony wall with a bar separates it from the living room.

It looks like your second living room was once the garage. Those conversions make for a large open space, but can be a bit awkward. My wife’s uncle’s house is like that. They haven’t done much of anything with it. The couch is on one side, the TV in the opposite corner. The middle is a huge carpeted space for the grandkids to play in.
