Step 1: Place signs every 10 feet along the side of a road saying no parking because construction starts on a certain date. Step 2: Two weeks after that date, tear up the road. Step 3: Leave road as dirt and gravel for over a week. Step 4: Maybe pave the road at some point?

(I’m salty because one of two ways out of my neighborhood is to turn into this road. Hopefully the city doesn’t grind the other way out into gravel before they re-pave this way.)

If there is high chance of rain, they can’t work.

It’s only rained yesterday since they tore it up on Monday.

Yes, we are currently in one of the few months of the year that is lush and green in these parts.

I’m liking the roadwork down by the UW Union, it is quite fun to bike through the dirt and gravel.

I assume you’re talking about Langdon St? I was just at the terrace yesterday, we went on a sail boat with my friend who’s in the Hoofers sailing club, at least until we had to come back in early because of a wind advisory.

Correct. I was at the terrace for a bit but got tired of all the wind, though it was amusing to watch sailors try to right their tiny boats after they got blown over.

According to my friend, some of them were practicing how to put them back up after capsizing them on purpose.

We were in a 27' boat, so more stable, but it still got pretty sideways in a few gusts.

They tore up the road in front of my house for over a mile in both directions a week after I bought the Ducati. No signs warning about out before hand either. That was the beginning of April. They just started paving two weeks ago. And simultaneously they tore up another mile in the direction I go to get to work. Taking other roads to work doubles my commute time.

could be worse, near me they’ve torn up a road and never resealed it

been 5 years now.
