That’s 19 US MPG over 380 miles. From a 1.6 turbo 4, with 120hp The GLA 180 will also do 200km/hr. These facts legitimately are totally unrelated.

I had a Ford Fusion loaner with the 1.5 that I averaged 21mpg mixed driving in, just driving as hard as required to keep up with traffic.

Meanwhile, my suburban averaged 17.4 mpg from a 5.7 liter engine making 255 horsepower over about 900 miles. But Suburbans are gas guzzlers...

Downsizing is a lie!

120 mph isn’t that high of a top speed

I don’t blame that entirely, it’s just overmatched for a 3500lb car.

there was a cartoon out there about sownsizing. The first panel has a kid ordering “large order of fries” and the second panel after the downsizing he says “16 orders of fries”

I can’t find the strip

Wobbles at speed. It felt like it would go more, but didn’t have the space to find out. Tyres are limited to 210km/hr

You weren’t going up mountain passes like a madman, bouncing off the ref limiter frequently. Nor where you driving 200 on the highway.

Also did some mild offroading ;)

This was before the highway- and that was only once as there’s a lot of speed limits.

For reference, the MR2 Spyder did 27 US MPG on the same roads, driven in the same manner. N/A FTW.

I’d be happy with 12.3 given how/where you were driving. My eternal trip computer which was reset when I bought the car, now sits somewhere around 5000 kms, 80 something hours, and 14l/100km average.

Yeah... that sounds about like what my full size truck gets with a 5.3l making 360hp.

My car with a 7.0l making +500hp will get way better than that. I’ve averaged 29mpg on trips.

These little turbo engines are a disappointment. They only do well when you are just completely pussyfooting them.

How much is that in units suited for the 20th century and beyond?

I definitely was not... My speed limiter cuts me off at 99 mph! It sounds like you had a blast!

But hey, rental cars are the fastest cars, right? :)

What? I didn’t reset the Computer on the Mégane, but from the bump in average fuel consumption, it must have been around 11,5-12 L/100km. Maybe I shouldn’t have chased the BRZ :)

You too have a small displacement turbo. That’s the issue I guess.

Given the amount of power it produces it’s small, even for Renault. How much power did the prv produce? Or the later v6? Or even the v6 sourced from Nissan? All had 50+% more displacement.

True, the Safrane Bi-turbo made 268HP out of 3.0L. The Mégane does nearly the same with 2,0L.

Haha, my worst tank was chasing the BRZ to the Dolomites, though that was still limited to 9.2.

Did the CEL resolve itself by the way?
