I’ve been looking for a winter beater for a long time. I found this gem yesterday. Depending on the mileage I might pick it up and spend the summer getting it ready for winter duty. I am a sucker for a CRX, and since I don’t use the highway for my commute, the gas-sipping original HF CRX might fit the bill.... If this this isn’t too ratted out it might be a diamond in the rough. Probably going to see it today, at least giving the guy a call.

NOBODY STEAL IT FROM ME AND MAKE IT INTO A LEMONS CAR!!!!!!!!!

(links kinja’d first time posting so there are two just in case)

dont make it into a winter beater. it doesnt have the rust tolerance for that and its a good car

Scrolled down to post exactly this- too nice and too rust prone for winter duty.

One winter would probably kill it.

I had a 87 HF. Not fast, but it got 50mpg. It only had 75hp, but wasn’t bad considering it weighs nothing. Good luck!

You guys are probably right. I saw one winter put bad rust on the wheelwells of my buddy’s ‘87 Si. Winters here in the Northeast would probably kill it.

That being said, it’s local... So maybe the rust has already gotten to it and I can give it a VIKING FUNERAL

Yeah, it’s probably gone by now. I really dig the inset headlights too.

They’re great cars. Since that one is only a grand, and already in the Northeast, I gotta think the cancer has started already.

IIRC, they’re roomier than you think, too.

But back in the day, I worked at a Honda dealer outside Chicago around 90-92, and those things were already rusting away. Shame, because the engines would run forever.
