I did my first raid battle today, it was neat. Also you get WAAAY more coins back for holding down a gym. I got 50 coins after my Rhyhorn was at a gym for 23 hours. The addition of TMs is really cool too.
But with aaaall these changes, and updates I’m still waiting for PvP battling it’s literally the only change I want.

Cap is at 50 coins/day right now. May change. When it first started it was 1 coin/hour but somewhat quickly changed to 1 coin/10 minutes. Several tweaks. I have 2 in gyms that have been there since about an hour after the update went live. Never had a gym in those areas for that long.
I enjoy battling more because only 6 mon, all different, and gets easier/quicker. I quit bothering with most gyms because they all became blissey/snorlax/dragonite and the occasional gyrados. With no one else to take down gyms with me it was doable but tedious.
I’m excited about TMs because almost all my perfect or near perfect IV mon have the worst movesets. With the mandatory different mon in gyms and a 50 coin limit, I can put them in just for fun. I enjoy taking out mystic gyms since we’ve had so many cheaters take over town that are mystic.

Fir a small town player like me it’s just the opposite. Because it was rare for a gym to ever work up to 6 Pokémon.
Plus it’s common to have every gym in town full because there’s is always an open slot at a friendly gym, until the cap is hit, instead of having to work for your slot. I liked that system better, but if gyms are already level 6,7 it did take a long time to get your slot/the next level.
The biggest difference I’ve noticed is it takes much longer to take down an enemy gym now, I played for 30 minutes trying to take down a gym and only worked it down to three Pokémon. But them some added a gyrodos and healed the Blissy so I left.

It’s funny how experiences can be totally opposite. On Friday I had some spare time and took out 6 gyms in the same time it would’ve taken me 2 gyms before.
