I know exactly how you feel. I hate buying extra copies of programs I already own (and can’t give away) just to save money on DLC. Like the printer with toner that cost less than the replacement toner, I hate wasting purchases to save a buck. At least with software nothing manufactured is being wasted, but still, it feels like you’re getting shafted for your loyalty.

Well in this case it’s more like I need the yellow and cyan ink, but Canon saying you can’t buy the CMYK set because you already have those 2 cartridges. I’m not even trying to buy another printer (which is also not allowed).

Time Warner offers the package I used to have (cut the cable last month) to new customers for around $80 less than I used to pay (my bill was $169/month). Now we have Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, Hulu, and HBO Now. Fuck Time Warner.

Here there are a few cable providers, but because of fifty-plus year old agreements, older buildings like ours (circa 1912) have one provider, and thus they can charge whatever they want.

For some buildings here, it’s the opposite. Some newest buildings have fiber laid into the units by either Rogers or Bell, then if that’s the case, you’re screwed and can only go for their fiber plans, which is WAY more than other plans.

POTS and FTTN, you can go with third party providers, as long as they have a last mile.

Annoying, especially since Steam does support buying bundles where you own part (and getting just the parts you don’t own at the bundle discount). It’s never clear why sometimes you get that, sometimes you can only buy the whole thing, and sometimes you must buy as a gift. You’d think steam would have enough clout to standardize their licensing.
