Did you know the FIAT 126 can have its entire engine hood removed by undoing one latch and one bolt? That’s it!

One bolt on the right hinge!

The hinge on the left just slides apart!

And you unlatch the ‘check strap’ with this handy thumblatch - push slightly to the side and up and it pops off easily and can be reattached just as easily! :P

Yay for easy access! The rear valance and bumper also come off with only a few bolts as well!

I think it is (excluding the ancillaries) still only like 5-6 bolts to remove the engine from the car via the detach-from-gearbox method...I should go find my pre-car-buying purchased 126 Service Manual and look it up! :D
