I spent the day at Road America for the IndyCar race. It was a great day. There’s one spot on the track, on the inside of Canada corner, that you can get within about 30' of the cars.
I know there are some other Oppos at the race, so if you see me tooling around on my scooter with my Die Hard Battery cooler, flag me down. I’d love to meet you.

Man that is fantastic, enjoy your weekend. Fun fact: I once had a lap battle there just before dark... in our haggard Carryall “Old Bessy”, against a Golf cart driven by my fellow mechanic. It was a riot, campers were cheering. Miss that track, I think it’s the one I’d most like to revisit. Beautiful area, friendly people, the smell of brats in the air, just a wonderful place.

I hope you do. I don’t drink (I just don’t like the taste of alcohol), so it’s just water and maybe root beer in the cooler. There’s plenty of beer at our base camp, which we set up on the inside of turn three.

Didn’t see ya. But again I got there at 11:30 and sat inside of turn 13 and didn’t move till after the race. Had the family with me so moving around the track wasn’t an option.
We did check out the paddock and pits afterwards.

That’s one area I never made it to. I’m glad you to ok advantage of the paddock access, that’s always fun to watch. I didn’t go in there until after the touring car race was over.

We were just getting to the pit wall when the touring cars did their standing start, as the IndyCar teams were packing up. We all had fun, it was also my first major league race so it was all kinda new and exciting.

I really want to go to the NASCAR Busch Nationwide XFINITY race there some year.
Tis a shame the Big Boys don’t race there... they could use more road courses on their schedule.
