Either one works, but I prefer my version. You need some money to go fuck off somewhere. You need some time to enjoy your money. If you can’t afford to do something you want you’re stuck working anyway... but if you’re making boatloads of money you can eventually go do your own thing.

No, I get what you’re saying... but the exact opposite is making no money. Neither can go on forever. You can only mooch so long before you have to get your ass in gear and get some cash somehow. Even if that means begging. Not a happy existence, and you can’t just decide to give it up and go have fun somewhere. By contrast, you can’t just dedicate your life to working your ass off and getting rich. You’ll burn yourself out. Besides you won’t be doing anything with the money, so what’s the point anyway. But the key is, with that life, you can turn around and leave any time you want.
Basically at some point in your life you’ll have time for what you want... if you take it early you’re likely stuffed, take it later on and you’ll get a lot more out of that time. Or you could do what most people do and take it in bits and pieces, because by and large it’s the best way.
