Kinja'd!!!

Found an old toolbox of my dads in the garage. Any reason anyone would want something like this? I don’t really love metal toolboxes but with everything old and “patina” being hot right now I thought I would ask if these types of things are worth anything to anyone. Im guessing no based on its “dime-a-dozen”ness.

I don’t really have a need or want for it, Just wondering it would even be worth putting out there or if its straight to the goodwill lot.

There’s a buyer for everything if you wait long enough.

If you need space, chuck it. If you have space, stick it on ebay. Or maybe a pawn shop?

An old Craftsman box MIGHT get you $20 or so. I’ve kept stuff around like that for when my wife has a garage sale, that way everything isn’t all kid’s toys and clothes.

I actually use boxes like this when I don’t want people to steal my stuff or even ask to borrow tools. Basically if this is all they see from outside your garage door, you’re safe lol.

I paid $20 last year for basically the same toolbox. I made it my road trip toolbox. I’m on the road with it right now actually.

So, not particularly valuable, but if you throw it away the gods will punish you because people like me love these, and new toolboxes are made of fried shit. Donate it if you don’t want to bother selling it.

Gotcha. Unfortunately they aren’t worth much, because they’re built so well that lots of them survived.

Kinja'd!!!

i like the smaller ones. they are the size of the upper tray in yours. i am usually able to squeeze all the tools that i *reasonably* need, to work on a car on the side of the road......... i buy just about all the ones that i can find......

Yeah, I snagged one last fall that my work was going to toss. You can get a surprising amount in them, and it fits under the rear seat of my truck just fine.

Its a nice size, but I just don’t like metal boxes this size on account of the fact that its inside with me making noise.

i used to carry around WAY too many tools, most of what i owned.. the small tool box helped me pare it down to a manageble amount......

IF, a guy owned a welder........... a guy could always cut one down to a bit smaller size, and get it put back together.......

Yeah, I mainly needed it so I had a decent set of tools for when I help my grandparents or aunt and uncle around their houses. I figured a small box that could stay in the truck was better than trying to throw things together when they need something.
