The car looks nice and all, but $15,000 is just too much for this kind of thing. Especially with the fiberglass.... If it was a Chevrolet or something, maybe.

I think it comes down to the fact that it’s a niche car. Not a lot of car guys want something that objectively isn’t really that fast or agile and uses manual spark control and a hand throttle. I assume the reserve is probably around $20k, and you can get more modern cars that are also great at that price. I think the seller made a mistake with setting so high a reserve.

That is very cool, but I think the market for pre-WWII cars with all but the very best provenance is going to collapse over the next decade or two. They’re cool, but they are rather specialized to keep running and there just isn’t a ton that you can do with one of those cars. I’d love to have one, but I would have to become filthy rich because they would be like the 10th car in my fantasy collection. I suspect that it is much the same for many car folks under the age of about 65.

you SHOULD be able to piece one together, for coming up on around a third of that price...... provided that you can do some of your own stunts......
